"Sometimes what stifles innovation and creativity is people within a workplace dynamic who say, ‘I have this really great idea, but I don’t want to show up my boss.' These kids are not jaded by preconceived notions or thoughts."

    Why EIP

The national award-winning Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, with its team of faculty and mentors who have all launched entrepreneurial ventures, has a proven pedigree of successful creativity and innovation-related education and achievement. In 2014, EIP was selected as Outstanding Specialty Learning and Development Program by the U.S. Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), the largest academic and professional association focused on entrepreneurship education.

    Why UMD

Located at the intersection of public and private industry, and just five miles to the nation’s capital, the University of Maryland is an ideal location for technology development and partnerships in entrepreneurship and innovation. Mtech has been a leading force in entrepreneurial education and innovation for over 30 years.

    Incentives: Early Access

By partnering with EIP, your company will have early access to the premier students at the University of Maryland who have a demonstrated interest and commitment to entrepreneurial thinking and innovation. EIP students come from a diverse range of backgrounds and majors, with strongest representation in engineering, business, and computer science. They are among the top academic performers, campus leaders, and award recipients. They are highly sought after by companies for internships and full-time employment because of their experience working in inter-disciplinary teams. As an Innovation Partner, your company will be recognized throughout the year, and will gain brand awareness and recognition by students, faculty, and the broader community.

    Investment

Each corporate partner is unique. We work with our partners to determine an engagement plan that will best meet your short- and long-term strategic goals. We have multiple levels of annual partnership to help meet your company’s desire and ability to be involved with EIP. A three-year commitment is encouraged to ensure sustained, productive contact between students, Innovation Partners and EIP.
